I'm pretty ashamed to say it now that the deed is done but I love this painting so much that I animated it in a video clip I made last year.
I should have asked you the permission to use it, I know I messed up here but sincerely I'm sorry. It was a small no-budget (or almost) indie music video project, and at first I just wanted to imitate your work a bit since in my opinion THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST YITHIAN PORTRAIT ON THE INTERNET (and I mean it), but everything I tried sucked major asses compared to your outstanding work. As post-production went and considering how shitty my work was in comparison to yours I gradualy borrowed more and more of your original work and as it is in the video it is just a modification of your artwork and nothing more.
The animation sequence using your work was quite appreciated. It's the highlight of my cheesy project.
I'll add a caption of the video on my gallery and talk about your original painting there too to pay tribute to your work. I hope you'll forgive me.

The Yithians have always been a favourite of mine and I love how you've made this one look so surreal and alien

I don't know which is greater, the Great Race of Yith, or your talent.
I assume your talent is even greater than them. Well done :)

thank GOD the Yith are the "good guys" in Lovecraft's work!

I'd hardly call them good guys. From what I've read in "Shadow Out of Time" they seem to at best ruin the narrator's life, and at worse, they plan to switch places with a race of bug people upon their own extinction.

Hence why I put "good guys" in quotes; they're "good" in the sense of that, unlike any other Lovecraft deity, monster, Eldritch Abomination or what have you, the Yith aren't planning, actively or otherwise, to destroy humanity in some way, shape or form. They are more or less "True Neutral" in terms of alignment towards humanity; the majority of Lovecraft's stuff is full on "Chaotic Evil (Hastur and Nyarlathotep)/ Chaotic Neutral (EVERYTHING else)". The only really "nice" things in the Lovecraft Canon are The Elder Things; they're the closest thing humanity has anything in common with, and are rather OK with humanity being around.

Ah I see what you mean now. They're the closest thing to nice because they're the only ones who have no urge to destroy all of humanity.

Bingo! If I recall further, the Elder Things, while not fully against humanity (IE KILLING EVERBODY ON EARTH FOR TEH LULZ), they also weren't keen on our scientific advancements, ether. In regards of the jealousness of them toward our science, picture a person who has a newer electronic fresh from the market, that's the Elder Things; Now picture another person who has a THE NEWEST electronic fresh from the market, that's humanity. Now think of the newer-device person plotting to murder, and eventually doing the murder of, the newest device guy, setting his house on fire and stealing his stuff.

That's how the Elder Things feel about Humanity in nutshell; nice but they REALLY, REALLY can't stand loosing or being second best at stuff.

and I think, not only that we're advancing, but we're advancing FASTER than them. They've had millions of years to develop their technology, but we'll catch up to them in just a few centuries.

Well, considering that they're kinda, ya know, DEAD and/or fictitious (at least in this part of the multiverse), I'd say we're rather past them (humanity already has death-ray levels of tech, like the  Long Range Acoustic Device or LRAD AKA THE SOUND CANON and directed-energy weapons or DEWs such as the Tactical High-Energy Laser WEAPON, or THEL-W). The Great Race of Yith had hand-held (to them)/ shoulder mounted (to us) Tesla Coils, passive mental mind-swap tech and hypothetical subatomic weaponry on their original home-world. The Elder Things had EXTREMELY advanced bio-technology, like the shoggoths, multilingual input/ out nodes for all kinds of communication, and DIRECT physical mind control, extended storage and  transfer capabilities along with a Faster-Then-Light transfer drive. I doubt we'll get even close to that for quite some time.

Plus, humanity is still doing the whole "let's make fun of/ punch/ stab/ nuke that place who doesn't agree with my country or my ideas" thing; that could put a damper on progress.

Ah, well, there was an elder thing in Australia at the start of the twentieth century in Shadow Out Of Time.
